I really just wish I understood legal jargon. I jumped on the conspiracy theory bandwagon for this one and have no idea what it really means. All I know is that its unfortunate that Medium responds like lightening when it has to do with them, but doesn't respond at al when it has to do with us.

Bottom line, for me, is they are covering their bases with that language. It does exactly what I said it could do. . .give them the right to "modify" our product to any ends without compensation. They could even "syndicate" our writing without paying us. Notice they keep saying we will never sell your "information." That doesn't mean content. That "sublicensable" means exactly like it sounds - they can license our product to 3rd parties for gain. that's not considered "selling" our content. I am slowly working my way away from giving them too much, but I really don't think my content is at risk. . . ; )
